My strategy is the same as in Alien(s). I assume 200 years somewhere down the line, someone will find OwZ floating around in space, and revive us from our hibernated sleep, ready for us to fight again.

The last breaths are just taking quite long. Only thing that could save it would be a rebirth of sorts, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm just back from 14 days in Albir, Spain with almost 0 internet availablility (read: I'm too lazy to go to the internet café), but before I left there was a small spurge in activity from may and june which were abysmal at best. Anywho, I intend to play a bit, so there should be some activity.
Also good luck with moving Alex! However if you go iniactive longer than Tony (~4 years ish) we may consider kicking you out.

Raf I disagree. I think that what's most important is that melody and rythm and the message comes together well. Sometimes a good rythm can really make a melody shine, while a melody can sometimes really make a rythm stand out. And sometimes melody and rythm gives the scenery appropriate for the message. And so on. None are first or second to anything, they're just part of the whole picture (the song.) And the way they play together makes the song, and notnecessarily their individual qualities. I think this is a perfect song to illustrate how all these elements are important to the end result. Take away one, and lose the effect of the others and so on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT4FG_lAYoQ

I think it's pretty much the same for every genre. There's a lot of crap out there, and there are some pretty good stuff, and some amazing stuff. But I think that the main thing is that you know what it is that you're coducting. The arrangement needs to fit the mood of the music, and I think that the best example of that is in the hall of the mountain king by grieg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDNYG9klLqQIt starts out simplistic, and as the theme and mood grows the orchestra grows. (even in this remix.) And I think thats a big problem for techno music. Suddenly the makers get all the power. There's no big limits anymore, and it's too easy to overkill something. And the important sections drowns in the bombasticness of it all. Especially when the creator doesn't really understand the strenghts and weaknesses of all the instruments he's using. However, when it's done right, it can result in something that you've never seen before. Even if the creator doesn't know the instruments at all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzqumbhfxRo
